Boycott TNA (Wrestling Company) IMMEDIATELY
I was flipping through channels and I came across Spike TV, and they had some wrestling on (I used to be a big fan of wrestling in my early teens, in the late 90s), I saw a farmilar face but something was wrong, but I wasn't sure..then I realized what the hell was wrong they had a segment with a wrestler wearing BLACKFACE, are you fucking kidding that in the year 2006 this is viewed acceptable? Where the hell is Spike TVs Standards & Practices lawyers?? If it was some other group of people being disrespected someone would have a big enough problem that it wouldn't air. Everyone involved with this travesty from the racists that wrote the storyline to the wrestlers that apparenlty have no self-value. If I was a wrestler, even if it was my only way to make a living and I was instructed to do something like this I would be leave. I wonder what the Black wrestlers of this company thought when they saw this?
here are the pictures:
non-Blackface
if you don't understand why I'm so pissed maybe you should start some reading over here.
people, what are your thoughts?
EDIT----------------
wow... I sort of remember this, so I guess the TNA shouldnt really suprise me considering 2 of the same guys are involved in both. Probably more tomorrow.

I can see where the offence can arise, and I personally would have steered WELL clear of this impersonation myself.
However, I think it should be noted that the impersonation was of a single person - Devon in this case, not black people as a whole.
The "skit" did not make fun of Devon for being black, it did not target him as inferior or otherwise lacking because of the colour of his skin.
The wrestler who performed this impression is unfunny for sure. He lacks talent definitely. The skit may have been ill-considered and not as humourous as they would have liked it to be, but racist it was not.
More likely was an extreme case of hyper-sensitivity on your part.
In my opinion of course.

Tom, thank you for your comment however if you read up on the history of blackface I don't see a way you can do it and just say its untastefully done and not also racist. Maybe the parties involved weren't doing it consciously to be racist agianst black people but doing Blackface in any form in my book is racist.
I am really dying to know who wrote the skit and what the black wrestlers of the comapny thought.

This skit was more than likely written by Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett is one of the founders and featured wrestlers on TNA. His character is somewhat of a guitar wielding redneck. However I would suspect that the two featured wrestlers had some say in the skit as they did the simliar skit in the WWF(E). I have been a wrestling fan for many years and have noticed many queationable racial skits. If you watched wrestling consistently nowadays you would be boycotting the entire sport. When it comes to stereotypes they dont just pick one but rather ever conceivable stereotype possible. Whether it be gay, redneck, ghetto, pimpin, etc.
TNA is a minor company trying to compete with the bid dog WWE. There little skit is nothing compared to the stuff WWE puts on. If you were to watch a month of WWE I guarantee you would find something to boycott.

hi folks i d just like to say that tna is the best wrestling i have ever seen, and kip james aka mr blackface is simply trying to compete with the superior wrestling of the younger wrestlers, kip james gets by based on his character in wwe/wwf so it is simply him repeating wwf's old antics, if u stayed tune guys like aj styles, chris sabin, sonjay dutt, and petey williams would knock your socks of with their moves, trust me the young boys of tna put old school wwe style wrestling to shame, do me a favor b4 slaming tna because of the actions of 1 man, watch an ultimate x match, its a a match where cables form an x above the ring and the guys have to climb to the center to get the x, these kinda match and the young guys r tna. kip james, aka mr.ass is simply an old fool, plus in tna the wrestlers have more lee way less script writing, its more likly bg and kip where told go out there n tease the dudleys, n kip was doing his job as a heel (bad man) by pissing people off.

to the moron who runs this blog: You're a oversensitive fagwad. Are you white? If so, you need to stop being the black man's bitch. If you're black, you need to suck it up. Hell, it doesn't really matter what race you are. You need to stop being so sensitive. People make fun of white people all the time. And I bet if you saw blatant racism towards a white person, you'd just nod and go along with it. Jesus. People like you really bug the hell out of me.
Oh, and also, boycott WWE. TNA is the only good wrestling on Cable TV in the US.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE STORY LINE WAS, IF YOU WOULD HAVE USED THE INTELLIGENCE YOU HAVE IN YOUR HEAD YOU WOULD HAVE FOUND OUT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A RACIAL ATTACK. TNA IS THE BEST BRAND OF PRO WRESTLNG ON THE MARKET TODAY!! SO ONE WORD OF ADVICE, BEFORE YOU MAKE YOURSELF LOOK LIKE A STUPID SHIT AGAIN, DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR STUPID ASS MOUTH!!!

So what? Big Deal! He had a black face, that's life. GET OVER IT!!!!
White people get made fun of all the time, and nobody ever says anything about that.
But when it's an African American, people just go all to pieces, and Rev. Al Sharpton gets involved.
People like me are sick and tired of this double standard B.S.
I would hate to imagine how people who whine and complain about something that is so minor would deal with a "REAL LIFE CRISIS" in this country like Nuclear War.
Get a grip, and stop whining.

Wow your an idiot and clearly dont know your facts, so before you go spilling your "opinion" on the net without knowing everything about the subject just do everyone a favour and shut the hell up. The so called "racist" thing was not making fun of blacks or anything like that, it was a simple skit where 2 wrestlers dressed up like 2 other wrestlers to make fun of them in a very innocent way. THere was nothing racial about that. If you watch it for a number of weeks you would understand, you cant make such accusations by "Flipping through channels you moron".

To the people defending this: You're idiots. This was a stupid way to start a feud that nobody ended up caring about.
